I first attended classes in 2018 with my son when he was just 5 weeks old, it took him a good few weeks to settle into the routine of classes but our class leader made us feel so welcome and at ease. I learnt so much about baby development from each class and they gave me so many ideas for things to do at home. My husband would always joke our house had turned into a Baby Sensory house as each week I would be demonstrating something new that we had learnt in class or making a new home made toy. As well as everything that I learnt from the classes I also I made my first ‘Mummy friends’ some of whom I still have contact with now. These friendships were invaluable to me as they gave me a network of people to discuss all things “baby” with and I quickly discovered that I was not alone when discussing any of the difficulties that I encountered as a new mum. In 2020 when my daughter was born, I knew I would be joining classes. At my daughter's penultimate session, the teacher mentioned that she was looking for someone to help run her classes. I barely waited for her to finish speaking before asking for more information. A few short months after that conversation; I left a 20 year career with horses, completed the Baby Sensory training, started leading classes and now here I am with a Baby Sensory franchise of all of my own. I feel so blessed and privileged to be sat in front of parents and their babies each day sharing the research based knowledge that I valued so much as a parent, all whilst having so much fun……… I'm still not sure it is really a job! For me there is no better reward than looking up to see a room of babies looking back at you with a look of amazement, wonder and awe. I really do have the best job on the world.

Hi, my name is Stevie and I lead classes in Orsett and South Hornchurch. I first heard about Baby Sensory from family and friends and knew that when my son arrived it was a class I wanted to try. Despite being a very self-conscious first-time mum, I attended my first class at Aveley when my youngest son was 6 weeks old. Classes soon became a very important part of our week and helped me become a more confident, creative and playful parent. Not only did I learn invaluable skills from the innovative class content and our passionate class leader, but I also connected with the other parents attending classes. When my second son arrived in May 2021, I was determined to attend classes again not only for my son’s development but to help me socialise again after numerous lockdowns. It was during this time that the position of Class Leader came about and I jumped at the chance. I have extensive experience in performing arts and teaching and I have loved every minute of using my background to enhance every session for each parent and their babies. It has been a privilege to guide the development of our babies and provide a safe space for our parents to socialise and grow in confidence.
