Jo Jackson
I was first made aware of Baby Sensory when I saw a stall at a Mothercare Expectant Parent event in Guildford. I was immediately drawn to the idea of the classes, as I had spent the preceding 8 years working as a Teacher and Behaviour Analyst in specialist schools for children and young people with autism. Throughout my training and my Masters degree I learned a great deal about the science of learning, and through close working with Occupational and Speech & Language Therapists I learned all about the importance of sensory experiences.
When I relocated back to London, my daughter Mia was 2 months old, and I was keen to make some local mum friends. I immediately looked up my local Baby Sensory group, and discovered Nansi’s classes in Teddington. We got straight onto the waiting list and eagerly awaited a space! We joined in September, when Mia was about 5 months old, and attended until she was 13 months (the week before I completed my class leader training!)
When Nansi said they were looking for class leaders I jumped at the chance, and I’m so glad that I did! Not only did I achieve my aim of making the most wonderful friends, but both Mia and I loved the classes too! Almost 2 years later the franchise was put up for sale, and after some family discussions, we decided to go for it. Summer Term 2019 was my first term as franchise owner, and it was incredible! I love meeting so many lovely families, and watching the babies in class grow and develop over their time with us – I look forward to many more years bringing the magic of Baby Sensory to families in my local area.
I am currently looking for someone to join my team of 1 in delivering our award-winning classes to the local area - if you would like more information on the role, please email me at teddington@babysensory.co.uk or use the contact tab.
