Welcome to Baby Sensory® Southwark!

Thank you for choosing Baby Sensory. We can’t wait to welcome you and your baby into our magical world of sensory discovery!

Baby Sensory Southwark is temporarily being looked after by experienced Class Leader and Regional Franchisor Renee, together with her Baby Sensory South East London team. Classes will continue while we recruit the right new franchisee to lead the area into its next chapter.

Every week offers a different sensory adventure, beginning with our special Say Hello song and ending with Wave Goodbye.

Before attending, please read our full class information, FAQs and important guidance on footwear, food, allergies, photography and missed sessions (below).

 Important class information

FOOD & DRINK: Food and snacks may only be consumed while seated in the reception area. Water, bottle-feeding and breastfeeding are welcome at any time.

LIGHTS: Most sensory-light resources are adult-led props. Please follow the guidance given by your Class Leader.

FOOTWEAR: Shoes must be removed before entering the sensory area, and adults must wear socks.

PHOTOGRAPHY: You may photograph or film your own baby, but please make sure no other children or adults are included. Images or videos featuring other families must not be shared. Our team carefully records each family’s photography permissions and generally avoids photographing identifiable baby faces wherever possible; smart glasses and other wearable recording devices must not be used during sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if my baby cries?

It is completely normal for babies to cry or become unsettled during a session, so please don’t worry.

Babies thrive on routine, and it can take a few weeks for them to become familiar with a new environment. Tiredness, hunger, teething and developmental changes can also affect their mood.

You are always welcome to stand up, move around, feed or comfort your baby. Please never feel that you need to leave because your baby is crying—we have all been there, and we want you to feel comfortable and supported.

Can I feed or change my baby?

Absolutely. Your baby’s needs always come first at Baby Sensory.

You are welcome to  breastfeed or bottle-feed wherever you feel comfortable and to change your baby whenever needed (please use a baby change mat away from class matting and equipment or use the designated baby change).

For older babies, please keep finger foods away from the mats and sensory equipment. This helps us maintain a clean and safe environment, particularly for babies with allergies.

What if my baby is mobile?

As babies become more mobile, we expect them to explore! Your baby may move into the central activity area or even make their way over to the Class Leader.

This is completely normal and a wonderful sign that your baby is developing confidence, curiosity and a desire to explore.

What if I arrive early or need to stay afterwards?

You are welcome to arrive shortly before your session and to stay afterwards if you need time to feed or change your baby.

If another class is taking place, please keep noise to a minimum so that the babies attending can enjoy their activities.

Can my baby’s sibling attend?

Baby Sensory classes are designed to be enjoyed by one adult and their baby.

We occasionally offer weekend or seasonal family events at which siblings may be welcome. Please ask your Class Leader before bringing an additional child.

When will my baby be ready to leave Baby Sensory?

Baby Sensory is suitable from birth until approximately 13 months. However, every baby develops at their own pace, so please speak to your Class Leader if you are unsure.

When the time comes, your baby will be ready to graduate to Toddler Sense®, our exciting adventure-play programme for children from 13 months to five years.

I booked a taster course. How do I continue?

If you would like to continue after beginning your taster course, please contact the admin team. You can extend your booking subject to availability.

Each week is different and self-contained, so families can join us at any point during the term.

Do you offer a twins/multiple-birth discount?

Yes. If you have twins or multiples, please book each baby separately and contact us so that the appropriate discount can be applied.

Where possible, we recommend bringing another adult so that each baby can enjoy one-to-one interaction. Please don’t worry if this isn’t possible—our team will help whenever they can.

What happens if I miss a class?

Unfortunately, refunds or concessions cannot be offered for sessions missed due to illness or holidays.

If you are unable to attend, you may gift your session to a friend with a suitably aged baby. Please email the admin team beforehand with your friend’s name and contact details.

In the event of illness, you may also contact the admin team to request a make-up class later that week or during the following week. We’ll always try to accommodate your request, but as classes often run at or near full capacity, this may not always be possible.

How do I rebook?

We will let you know when dates for the next term are released. Existing customers will receive advance notice, and reminders will also be shared in class and on our social-media pages.

Spaces are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and popular sessions can fill quickly.

What happens if a class is cancelled?

Classes are rarely cancelled, and we will always try to provide another Class Leader where possible.

If we do need to cancel, we will contact everyone booked into the session by email and, where necessary, text message. Please make sure the contact details on your booking are kept up to date.

We may also share cancellation information on our social-media pages.
