Loraine MacArthur

Hello and welcome to Baby Sensory. My name is Loraine MacArthur and I run the Baby Sensory and Mini Professors West Lancs classes. Baby Sensory is a wonderful learning and development program for babies birth-13 months and Mini Professors offers science classes for 2-5 years. I absolutely love what I do. Becoming a mum totally turned my life upside down and around but absolutely for the better. I've never been happier. I am a busy mum with 2 beautiful daughters and I attended Baby Sensory, Toddler Sense and Mini Professors with my girls and we loved every class. I'm extremely passionate about early learning and development. There is nothing better than seeing the sheer delight on the children (and parents) faces when they experience our classes. I'm very lucky to share that first special year with everyone who attends. I have now hosted Baby Sensory for 6 years and it has been a pleasure. It's a crazy job but so much fun and I throw my heart and soul into each and every class. You can't help it, you turn on the music and just get carried away by Baby Sensory magic! I hope you enjoy the classes as much as I enjoy hosting them for you. I run the St Helens classes at Rainford and Rainhill (and Mini Professors) My fantastic class leader Becca hosts the Baby Sensory Pemberton and Parbold classes

Nicola Woods

Hello, I'm Nicola, your Baby Sensory class leader at the West Lancashire venues of Aughton and Southport. I am incredibly excited to be training as a class leader for Baby Sensory and eager to see lots of new faces over the coming terms. I will go above and beyond to make your classes productive and enjoyable. I worked as a teaching assistant in a generic special primary school before studying music and drama at university. While at university I experienced working in a second special school in Bath. I have found running sensory activities particularly rewarding as the children's faces always light up during these activities and they gain so much from the experience. I was also able to take the children on imaginary adventures from the artic to the Amazon rainforest through the use of music, sound effects, lighting, puppetry, bubbles while exploring all the children’s senses including smell and taste. It was from these adventures I grew to love sensory storytelling and used every opportunity to incorporate this passion into my university theatre projects. More recently I have worked as a teaching assistant in a mainstream primary school. I’ve always enjoyed using the arts to educate children and young people. While studying, my partner Michael and I had our first child, Rosemary. We have been together for seven years and have just had our second child, Beauden. I am looking forward to meeting your precious babies and yourselves very soon. You will be amazed to see the development they go through in the first 13 months of their lives.
