Hayley
Hi everyone! I’m Hayley, the very proud owner of The Sensory Hub and a qualified Baby Sensory and Toddler Sense class leader.
I’m the person behind the messages, emails, texts and calls — so if you get in touch with us, it’s me you’ll be chatting to! You’ll also sometimes find me covering classes, which I absolutely love doing.
Prior to taking on The Sensory Hub, I worked in nurseries and as a private nanny, before heading off to university to study Psychology. In my third year, I specialised in child development and educational psychology, which really shaped my passion for supporting children as they grow and learn.
After university, I completed my PGCE and became a primary school teacher. I spent some time in mainstream education before moving into specialist provision centres for children with additional educational needs — a role that I truly loved.
In 2023, I welcomed my daughter Darcie, and life hasn’t been the same since (in the best possible way!). After becoming a mum, I decided not to return to teaching — it was a difficult time for me and at that point I couldn’t imagine how I was going to juggle motherhood and a job. I expected the transition to motherhood to be a breeze but the reality was far from that! When the opportunity to purchase The Sensory Hub came up, it felt like the perfect fit for both me and my family.
Choosing just one favourite part of the job is almost impossible, but if I had to pick, it would be supporting parents and carers through what can be a really difficult and lonely time. Knowing that our Baby Sensory and Toddler Sense classes can make even a small difference means the world to me.
Michelle
Michelle is the newest member of The Sensory Hub team, and we’re so excited to have her leading our Baby Sensory classes!
Her journey with Baby Sensory began as a parent — attending classes with her own children. She loved the experience so much that it inspired her to take on this role herself when a vacancy became available in 2024. As Michelle says,
“I loved Baby Sensory when I went with my own children — I always thought the class leader had the most beautiful job, being able to provide such a magical experience for the children and parents.”
Now, Michelle brings that same warmth and enthusiasm to every session — creating memorable moments for babies and their grown-ups to connect, learn, and have fun together.
With feedback from her Baby Sensory training including comments such as “you were born to do this” and “one of the best I have seen in over 8 years of training” we are so lucky to have her on the team and can’t wait for you all to meet her in class!
Gemma
Gemma has been part of The Sensory Hub family since 2023, leading our Toddler Sense classes and occasionally covering Baby Sensory sessions too.
Her sensory journey began just like many of our parents — attending Baby Sensory classes with her daughter Thalia. She loved every moment of those special sessions and was inspired to train as a Toddler Sense Class Leader in February 2023. The following year, she completed her Baby Sensory training, allowing her to step in and cover classes when needed.
Before welcoming Thalia, Gemma worked as a Nursery Manager, bringing over 8 years of experience in early years settings. She holds a Level 3 qualification in Childcare and a degree in Sociology, giving her a wonderful depth of knowledge and experience with children and families from all walks of life.
When asked about her favourite part of the job, Gemma says:
“Probably the weeks we have lots of lights, bubbles and dancing – watching the toddlers and their grown-ups interact with each other whilst feeling comfortable enough to have a boogie!”
Gemma can’t wait to meet you all and introduce you to Tod and his many fun-filled adventures!
