Your baby loves routine and will love the routine at Baby Sensory. Classes are designed to follow their natural play - rest - play cycle, starting with the magical Say Hello to the Sun song followed by some sensory activities. You'll have time to rest in the gorgeous exploratory play area where your baby can enjoy some free play time alongside you while you get a chance to meet and chat with other parents in class. After that you'll come back for some more structured sensory activities before we wave goodbye. The routine ensures that your baby feels secure and happy ready to enjoy all the fun and wonder of the class.

Frequently asked questions..
Q: What happens at a Baby Sensory class?
A: You will experience 1hr of Sensory magic with a different theme each week...diving into underwater worlds, lying beneath jungle vines, having a teddy bears picnic or zooming through space. There is also time every week to chat with other parents in the wonderful exploratory play area. We know how important it is for you to have time to socialise too.
Q: Where are classes being held?
A: We have classes in West Bridgford, Ruddington and Clifton
Monday’s – St Lukes Church, Leahurst Road, West Bridgford
Tuesday’s – Clifton Village Hall, Clifton
Wednesday’s – Poppy and Pint, Lady Bay, West Bridgford
Thursday’s – Rushcliffe Country Park (Conference Centre), Ruddington
Q: Is it just a ‘Mummy group’?
A: No! We have a large number of Daddies, Grandparents, relatives and carers who come to class each week, contributing to our diverse, warm and welcoming environment.
Q: Will I learn anything from the classes?
A: Yes, loads! There is 35 years of expert knowledge and experience behind our lesson plans, we are privileged to share all of this with you! Each activity has a fundamental developmental benefit behind it, you'll leave armed with that knowledge ready to continue the fun and learning with your baby at home.
Q: My partner has the day off work, can they come along too?
A: Yes of course, we just ask for you to let us know in advance so we can make sure there’s plenty of space for everyone in class.
Q: My baby has extra needs, will Baby Sensory be suitable for them?
A: Absolutely. Everything we do is suitable for all babies, either as it is or with a little adjustment. Please do get in touch with us to talk it through so we can help you and your baby get the most out of the sessions.
Q: Is my baby too young?
A: Baby Sensory classes are suitable from birth, as soon as you're ready to head out with your new baby then you're more than welcome to attend. The most miraculous advances in your baby's brain structure and function occur in their first three months of life. Early postnatal experiences in a nurturing and stimulating environment play an important role in this development. You and your baby will experience activities that are specifically designed to be safe and suitable for babies from birth and developmental information given to help you play at home in an age/stage appropriate way.
Q: What if my baby sleeps or feeds during the session?
A: You are more than welcome to breast or bottle feed your baby where ever you want to, either stay at your mat or sit at one of the chairs to the side if that's more comfortable for you. Likewise if baby sleeps, stay where you are or move to a chair. Did you know that your baby will take in at least 80% of surrounding stimuli even while they're asleep! Your baby will still benefit from sounds, smells, touch, the closeness of you giving them a lovely snuggle, and you can soak in all the information and ideas ready for when baby is awake and ready to play.
Q: Is my baby too old?
A: If your baby is under 13 months when the term starts then Baby Sensory is for you!
Q: My baby is crawling/walking, can we still come?
A: Definitely! Mobile babies get so much from the sessions. You may find that your baby spends a bit of time in the exploratory play area because they just love all of the exciting things over there, but as soon as an activity captures their attention, they’ll be zooming right back. They are also welcome to join me at the front of the class, I love seeing our little ones grow in confidence and explore!
Q: When can I join?
A: At any time, providing spaces are available! Baby Sensory is not a course and every week is completely different so there is no need to wait for the next term to start. If you join part way through the term, you only pay for the remaining weeks.
Q: There is a waitlist should I join?
A: Absolutely! It is always worth joining our waitlist when classes are full. Babies are always moving onto the next class or graduating and finishing their journey with us so this way you will be notified as soon as a space becomes available or when the next term is open for booking!
Come and experience the magic that is Baby Sensory and discover all the different ways your baby is amazing!
