How will classes operate?

Baby Sensory – the class will be 45 minutes long and in 3 parts.

Part 1- Leader led

Each week you come to class there will be a new exciting theme for you & your baby to enjoy, so you’ll never experience the same session twice!!

Every class begins with our signature song 'Say Hello to the Sun. ' where you can learn the baby sign language. This song has proven magical powers to calm and soothe your baby.

Next, we run 20 minutes of leader led activities with lots of magical props for you to enjoy with your baby. This includes puppet shows, instruments, lights and so much more.

Part 2- Break Time

This part of our class is our baby led rest/play time. Following their natural cycle of play/rest/play.

The Exploratory Play Area is set up for you differently every week with toys, soft textures, books and photo opportunities depending on the theme of the week. This is a crucial part of the session as a baby's concentration span is only 20-25 minutes on directed activities.

This break also gives you the opportunity to socialise with other parents and make friends.

Part 3 - Closing

The last part of the classes we all come back together as a group and continue with more sensory leader led activities.

We always finish with our calming Wave Goodbye' song.

The aim in structuring our classes in this way is to give your baby maximum enjoyment throughout and hopefully by the end of the session they will have earned themselves a nice long relaxing nap.

How will you keep the equipment clean?

The equipment will have been sanitised before each session and left to air dry before it is used again.

What happens when I arrive and what can I bring with me?

Due to the cleaning procedures we ask that you do not arrive earlier than 5 minutes before the start of your class. On arrival please leave all bags and coats in the male and female changing rooms and shoes on the shoe rack. Please only bring essential items with you to the class. Please do not bring buggies/car seats unless absolutely necessary.

You are welcome to change baby in class too. Please bring your own changing mat and take all nappies/wipes etc home with you or alternatively use the changing facility in the toilets.

Can I bring siblings/ extra children with me?

We are unable to have older siblings attending class that are under the age of 5.

Your booking is for one adult and one child.

If you have twins/siblings the second sibling is half price. Please contact us for any sibling bookings/discount.

What happens if I cannot attend my usual class?  Can I swap classes?

If you cannot make your booked class for any reason, you are welcome to GIFT this to a friend (baby must be within correct age). (Full details would need to be given in advance in writing).

We cannot offer a refund or credit for absence for any reason.

We will try and accommodate you in a different class that week subject to availability but are unable to guarantee space and time.

What else do I need to know?

Please make sure your mobile number and email is correct and up to date on our system to ensure you receive any notifications sent

Where classes have met capacity, they will be shown as having a wait list.  You can add yourself to the wait list by clicking on the "wait list" button next to the class.  If a space does become available, we will contact you.  Please be aware that wait lists do not carry over into a new term so please keep an eye out for new term dates being released or email us on barnet@babysensory.co.uk

You can join a class at any time providing there are places available and only pay for the remaining weeks of term. While each session follows a set structure to help babies/toddlers familiarise themselves with a routine, each session is an individual unit so you don't miss anything by joining partway through a term.
