Meet the team!
Juliette was born and raised in Cambridge. Her past career was as a company director in the weight-loss arena, where her job focused on business development, programme design and training counsellors how to help their clients. She loved her work as it really made a difference in people’s lives, and she started Cambridge Baby Sensory for similar reasons!
Juliette loves babies, and has two boys, Tristan and Ethan, aged 6 and 2. She had searched for the perfect baby development class to take Ethan to, but found that this was something that was lacking in the Cambridge area. That was when a friend told her about Baby Sensory. Unfortunately, no Baby Sensory Classes were running in Cambridgeshire at the time - the nearest venue was in Hertfordshire! She went along with Ethan, and found out that it was well worth the drive!
Helen joined the team in March to help out with the admin side of things. She has worked as a Primary School teacher for 12 years, giving her lots of experience working with children and parents, and paperwork! She discovered Baby Sensory classes with her son Theo in 2012 and loved it so much that she jumped at the chance to join the team. She has two children, Poppy aged 5 and Theo aged 1, along with her own craft business, which is her creative outlet. Multi-tasking is Helen's specialty!
Class Leader Heemali joined the team in April 2012. Heemali has lived in Cambridge all her life and has extensive experience of working with and helping children and adults through movement and dance. A few areas of her creativity include singing and specialised dance styles including Contemporary, Bollywood, Street Dance and singing to name but a few!
Heemali's passion for helping children has enabled her to support 'Inspire', a Cambridge based charity that has successfully designed and run creative arts and media projects for people with disabilities or long-term health difficulties. Heemali's interest in this type of work led her to Baby Sensory. Having always adored babies, it was the perfect opportunity for Heemali to train in a new area whilst using her wealth of experience in similar fields of learning and development.
Class Leader Joy joined the team in September and is a Mum to two teenage boys. She started her childcare career after obtaining the N.N.E.B Certificate in Nursery Nursing, and now has over 25 years’ experience of working directly with babies, young children and their parents and carers.
Joy has worked in with babies in lots of settings, including Community Health Visiting Teams, private and volunteer-run day nurseries, and a children’s centre. She’s qualified as an I.A.I.M (International Association of Infant Massage) Baby Massage Instructor and is also a qualified Portage Home Visitor who supports children with additional needs and their families.
