Through the birth of my own children, it was easy to see how much they enjoyed and benefited from the touch of infant massage. Also through the use of basic sign language, the girls were provided earlier with a meaningful mode of communicating. As a result, they were much happier babies. When I saw the Baby Sensory website, I was delighted to see such an amazing program that could be offered to parents with their babies. I love the activities and ideas that the program offers to connect with their babies, but also that it offers parents a chance to meet with other parents in a fun environment.
With a varied background in working with special needs adults and children, I developed a keen interest in the importance of sensory stimulation activities. When used appropriately, they can assist in easing anxiety, as well as helping to further use their senses in a more functional manner. Through my education and experience as a deafblind intervenor, I was able to see it's impact in an even more significant way. I am happy to see sensory activities used as a means of interacting with our babies. What a wonderful way to help develop the bonding between a parent and their baby, as well as boost the development of babies. "
