Our Toddler Sense programme, for children from 13 months to 3 years, is
an Adventure Play activity that has been designed to build on the skills
acquired at Baby Sensory.
Toddler Sense is an exciting introduction into learning through play and games.
Our Toddler Classes include great
music, equipment, games and new ideas! Imagine climbing a snow mountain,
going on safari, digging for fossils, swimming with dolphins and
hunting for dinosaurs? Every week introduces new activities and a whole
new adventure.
The main emphasis is on mobility, excitement and adventure.
It is a fast-moving, action-packed programme.
About the Programme
The video below show a
series of activities from a typical Toddler Sense session and
illustrate a number of unique games and activities for parents and their
Toddlers.
Activities introduce toddlers and children to a magical, multi-sensory
interactive experience that will keep them busy and stimulated. Great
brain food! They will also have lots of fun on the way!
The various Adventure Play activities and games aim to help children
learn through play and, as with Baby Sensory, activities vary weekly.
Carnival-style activities, creative dance, parachute, pom-poms and
coloured ribbons give everyone, including parents and carers a great
sense of wellbeing and achievement.
The Toddler classes have been designed to meet the specific needs of two separate age groups.
What Happens At A Toddler Sense Class
Our Toddler Classes are divided into three balanced phases incorporating
warm-up activities and skill development activities, where children are
encouraged to explore their environment and a challenging conclusion.
Activities are short, dynamic and fun with a clear sense of purpose.
Children are guided on adventures to the stars, through the jungle,
underwater and to different places around the world.
Toddler Sense classes always start with the Adventure Play area, which is set out
differently each week. Children enjoy scrambling over obstacles, balancing on steps
and blocks, crawling through tunnels and climbing over the trestles and ramps. They
also enjoy putting the equipment away after play.
Adventure Play is followed by structured, themed activities and games led by the
Class Leader. The first activity always starts with our 'How do you do?' song, which
involves singing, rhythm sticks and holding hands. You and your child will then
enjoy an action-packed adventure in a multi-sensory environment.
Every session ends with our ‘Say Goodbye’ song.
Toddler Sense gently introduces New Explorers, (13 - 18 months) to
equipment and activities that are suitable for their age and stage of
development. These sessions last 45 minutes.
Toddler Sense introduces Adventurers (18 months - 3 years) to a
whole new world of adventure and challenge that will lead learning and
development forwards, and motivate children to try out new skills. These
sessions last 50 minutes.
